For The Birds

I know why the birds on the breeze
Are filled with joy for the Lord,
They go hither and yon, all over town
Without thought for tomorrow
For they know the master's hand is the
Breeze beneath their feathers and none fall to the ground
Unless their spirit rises to the call of
Come home, my baby bird, your beats
Are done in this tropical heat, and it is time to re-meet.
You are in the cage, most lonely
Beloved and cared for, without a mate
This is the queen's beloved fate
Your mate sits across the tides, and the flow
Awaiting both of your releases back to my glow.
Never envy another one's feathers,
The apparel may be chained to that perch
Upon which you gaze down
For the ones with no thought of tomorrow
Those hand me their daily sorrow
And know and return my love, mercy, and grace
Will see heaven's open gate and my face.
