We Need to do better

This may sound self-righteous, but I hope not because I genuinely try to examine my motivations before I say things. If you are offended, I pray you to ask yourself why and not lash out.

I and the majority, the portion that remains silent, know our society and our cultures, and the world has gone into its cycle of decay.
We as a collective have allowed waste, depravity, and ennui to rule while the land that gives us life burns, melts, and now releases the pestilence that took down empires time after time.
We live in our bubbles of self-righteousness, self-pity, or party hearty while innocent victims are ignored, discarded, or killed. Some even in the name of God.
God, whether or not you believe, I do, holds back His hand because we humans were given free choice to learn to love one another. We need to be doing better.
And He loves all, including the ones we deem scum. They have lost their way, or are we, too, who have lost our way?
If one disagrees with another's viewpoint, then names are called or lashing out to harm and, yes, sometimes, kill.
We were told to be stewards of our land and the animals, yet we chop down their land because a resource is there we can use. We hunt and kill without thought. Not all, but a majority do.
Every creature upon earth has a purpose; every object is His glorious creation. In our arrogance, we think mankind is god and is entitled to do whatever he wishes.
I could leave this here; in conclusion, you reap what you sow. And in truth, that is so.
It is time to examine ourselves, not others. It is time to judge ourselves, not others. It is time to return to our roots of God's love - and forgive ourselves and others.
We have much to learn in giving mercy. God is always available to teach. You need only call to Him.
