Rainbows - A Promise

 RAINBOWS - A PROMISE

Rain is a boon, and sometimes a flood
Allowing crops to grow and some swept away
In each life, the good and the bad comes with sorrow
Nonetheless, we are made to overcome adversity
Bygone days, Noah built an ark
Only recently found on the mount, it was said settled
Wonders of God's word told throughout the Holy books
Settled, too, was a promise, no matter how bad the world
Arrives at another new beginning, this time, the end is fire!
People throughout the world are worried, and a few
Even turn to God Almighty, the architect, the maker,
Owner of all, and as we read the truth, the pages
Prophesied mankind would fall into a heavy depravity
Lessons need learning each generation, allowing slippage
Eventually leading to the fall of a civilization or the whole world.

As a friend of mine says, some words are harsh, but she is only the messenger. The world is on the precipice. God enjoins us to humble ourselves and to pray. Those who call for the end are not
in God's will. We are called to nurture nature, not destroy it. We are called to be stewards of the earth and its creatures, not destroyers. Protectors, not warmongers.
Into the world, naked we come; money and possessions, even should they be buried with our shell, are useless.
It is time to awaken and realize that each one of us is a child of God sent to make this coil better, not beat it to dust where we all return.
For now, I do not know how long, but God's ear is open to repentance and reminds us of His promises. I pray this is not the last chapter in the book.
For today it is a Rainbow.
