The Disaplinarian
Time ran out while busily stressed
Hectic dash between dates fleshed
Eternity called, and you calmly ceded
Divinity's voice harkened, yet you lingered.
Insisting verbal release, holding my fingers
Spirit of God took and reshaped your heart
After humbling your ego, shot like a dart
Preaching peace, bowing, asking forgiveness
Learning to say I am sorry for my remissness
In turning from foulness generational curses
Null and void, and sons now fathers verses
Anger for gentleness shaped the tone
Raising with love and few rebukes honed
Into our lives walking a path eagerly taken
Actor in a play for a while forsaken
Never by God, only man needed redemption.

Happy Father'overs Day to All who serve in that capacity. The last year I wrote a specific post for Father's Day was in 2012. I was going to write one for my husband but told him that with all the anxiety and unfairness in our young grandchildren's lives, I would bump him, with his agreement, to the following year and basically cover two of our sons. That one is entitled Daddy, The Missing King.
He agreed - had we known we were about to step into a hell of misdiagnosing, over medication, and life on the fast track taken into a speed dial life, had I done that, it would not cover his death six years later.
Happy Father's Day, Paul Jr., in the Spirit! Praise God you were reborn before you died.
