IF TODAY WAS YOUR LAST

 IF TODAY WAS YOUR LAST

I know I want my loved ones to know
First how through years love abundantly did grow
Taking the time to show them God’s grace, His unconditional love
Only is the reason I am full to the brim from above
Daily life is one of pleasure to serve, always to give
Allowing others, the ability to choose how to live
Yearning to let the world know that it may be forever gone
Water down the drain
As if washed away in the rain
Sometime possibly in the future forsook
Yet is this your last chapter, in the book
Or have you not yet used all your scenes
Useless then if you have determined your means
Resting on your own ego deciding that is enough
Letting your spirit be settled with a snuff
Albeit would you not rather have a better say,
Staying the course, exiting with love on that day?
Taking and leaving that goodbye is but a moment’s delay,
