You may not be the Sun
But can be a Sunflower
You may not have the wealth
Yet, your smile inspires each hour!
You may not be dazzling bright
Yet are a soothing yellow
That soothes the eyes
With your mild beauty -
You may not have a stem
Of strong and stout wood,
Yet when you dance in
Musical breeze,
You're better than best for good!
You compliment your fellows,
When shadow looms dark as a wall,
On rainy days, when the wind howls
You face your friends so tall!
You turn and face each other,
And keep the smile on you
And so does the next Sunflower
Who is next in the queue!
This is what we call -
Solidarity indeed,
Who always think of each other,
When indeed there is a need!
The Annotation:-
As far as I read, on days when sunlight is dull, the sunflowers blooming in a field, turn their petals towards each other, sharing the brightness of their yellow petals.
Thus they keep the minimal rate of photosynthesis in their control and do not wither due to lack of bright sunlight.
This is a part of plant movement called photonasty!
