Wedding Day....Blues

 WEDDING DAY...BLUES

Witness this day a blushing bride's
Emotions run high, Hoping
Days to come will be without sighs
Disenchantment and busy days coping
Invoke missing closeness; gone are the hugs
No longer having the loving words of courting
Gone too in the flurry is love now called humbugs
Dearest Almighty calls for unconditional love kept supporting
All committed, not changing as if the heels are flats
Yearning for new changes is not in His plans
But kindness, love, hugs, not giving into raucous rows
Living in harmony through the world's chaos, remember banns
Unless calmness, which is God's love, shows.
Eternity's peace awaits those who win over misbehaving
Searching within self and home will rekindle the first craving.

I wrote this while remembering my marriage of fifty-two years through all its ups and downs. Knowing love never dies but does
expand.
The original was written on my wedding day to my second husband. I revised it today on my first Anniversary.
